Jewish Communal Professional of the Year Award
To be presented to an outstanding Jewish communal professional employed by a Jewish community organization, agency, school or congregation for their professional service and leadership to the Jewish community and people as well as their commitment to excellence of service.

Candidates must embody and represent the best values of service, commitment, passion and dedication to the vitality of the Jewish community as well as to Jewish life, living and identity.

Candidates should demonstrate creativity, innovation and initiative in helping to build and strengthen their organization as well as the Jewish community at large.

Candidates shall have served their current Jewish communal organization for at least two years.

Mensch of the Year Award
This award is intended to recognize a volunteer in our Jewish community who is the embodiment of being a “mensch”, and who provides invaluable assistance to a Jewish community organization, agency or congregation while not seeking personal gain or recognition. Their efforts are altruistic and selfless; and they have a demonstrated commitment to Jewish life and living.

This award is intended to recognize and honor those individuals who provide dedicated volunteer service through their contributions of time, energy and effort in the true spirit and Mitzvah of community service. The award is intended to recognize “ordinary” community members who are doing good deeds without seeking leadership roles or recognition.

Candidates shall not be an elected Officer of a Jewish communal organization, agency, school or congregation.

Candidates shall be nominated and recommended by any Jewish community leader or community member.

Young Leadership Award
To be presented to a deserving young professional who has demonstrated their commitment to the Jewish community through their involvement, leadership, and personal achievements.

Candidates must be between the ages of 25-45 and demonstrate commitment and dedication to Jewish life, community and Israel.

Candidates should demonstrate leadership qualities and abilities including, but not limited to, serving as a leadership role model, respect for others, assuming responsibility for their own actions and self-motivation. They should be actively involved in leadership roles in service to the Jewish Nevada, as well as other Jewish communal agencies, such as congregations and other not-for-profit agencies.

Candidates should make a meaningful leadership gift to Jewish Nevada’s Campaign for Jewish Needs.

Jewish Educator Award
To be presented to an outstanding professional Jewish Educator who creates new and inventive approaches to teach and engage their students.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field.

Candidates must be a teacher in either early childhood, day school teacher grades K-12, or congregational/ supplementary school grades K-12.

Candidates must teach at least 6 hours per week. A minimum of 4 of those hours must be in direct engagement with learners. The additional 2 can be fulfilled in another Jewish ed
