Allan Brewster Chesed Indigent Burial Fund

For several years our Jewish Federation, in cooperation with a number of Jewish community organizations, has sponsored the Allan Brewster Chesed Indigent Burial Fund.  The fund was named for Brewster, the former owner of King David who helped to establish the fund through his own efforts many years ago.

Today the fund helps to provide traditional Jewish burials to those members of our community who cannot afford them.  We are indebted to Clark County Department of Social Services for their commitment to assisting in this important community service as well as the following Jewish community partners of the program:  King David; Kraft-Sussman; Jewish Family Service Agency; Board of Rabbis of Southern Nevada; Orthodox Rabbinate; Temple Beth Sholom; Woodlawn Cemetery.  The Jewish Federation provides funds for the Indigent Burial program together with each of our community's congregations.  We wish to thank all of our partners for helping to perform this important Mitzvah.
