Shalom Baby & PJ Library are in on all the action valley wide

PJ Library & Shalom Baby have resumed their monthly Mommy & Me Morning events.  We kicked off with a wonderful morning at Town Square. We met new Moms while our little ones played and ran around. Our Monthly Mommy & Me events are for kids from up to two years old.   They are usually the first Thursday of the month.  This is an excellent monthly program for new moms to meet, relax, talk and share their “new mom adventures”.

Ahavas Torah Center hosted a fabulous Labor Day weekend BBQ.  Over 50 families attended the party at a Henderson park.  Children had a wonderful time making table decorations for Rosh Hashanah and checking out the selection of PJ Library books that were on display, as well as, doing the meaningful mitzvah of Tzadakah by filling a PJ Library Tzedakah box.  All this occurred as Rabbi Fromowitz was schviting over a hot kosher grill.

Midbar Kodesh has also started a weekly Mommy & Me Shabbat Program.  Oshrit Weinstein, facilitates this fabulous weekly program.  It gives Moms a chance to relax and chat while their little ones play and listen to Oshrit read them a PJ Library story.  Oshrit ends each event with a beautiful taste of Shabbat, doing blessings over candles, challah and grape juice.

Rebbetzin Racheli Metal from Chabad of Summerlin has been doing a wonderful Mommy & Me program for many years.  To quote Racheli “The first few years of a child’s life are the most impressionable.  What better way to build a strong Jewish foundation than through Jewish music, laughter, gentle touch and hands on play in a warm heimishe environment”. Kids get to daven, celebrate and learn about each Chag (festival).  This weekly Mommy & Me program is on Tuesday mornings.  “This is such a wonderful way for myself and my child to connect and sing songs about our Jewish life” says Elsa Perel a Mommy & Me Participant.

Future events include a Channukah event hosted by Temple Beth Sholom on December 6th where children will be able to sing and dance with City Lights Music Together and do arts and crafts and enjoy a delicious treat.  Shalom Baby and PJ library will also be present at the 8 Nights of Channukah at Downtown Summerlin. Please stop by and say hello or introduce yourselves to us. Also, keep an eye out for High Tea at Midbar Kodesh starting in January 2016.

PJ Library and Shalom Baby are both programs of The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, are consistently providing fun, interactive and unique programming for Jewish families across Southern Nevada.  In conjunction with regular programming, the PJ Library mails free, high quality Jewish children’s literature and music to families across the continent on a monthly basis.

Shalom Baby is designed to welcome newborns and their families to our Jewish community.  Thanks to a generous grant from the Brenden Mann Foundation, expectant parents that sign up for Shalom Baby receive a special diaper bag filled with a Kiddush cup, candlesticks, tzedakah box and a Shabbat board book and a Shalom Baby bib.

PJ Library & Shalom Baby is partnering with many Synagogues, schools and organizations to do events all over the valley.  We are happy to be involved in promoting Jewish values and Jewish experiences within our diverse community.  Please check out our Facebook page and The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas website for all program details.
