Martin Goldsmith’s grandfather, Alex Goldschmidt, was arrested on Kristallnacht. He was released from concentration camp on the condition he leave Germany. He left aboard the ill-fated refugee ship SS St. Louis only to be denied entry to Cuba and the US. He was ultimately returned to Europe...

The son of Holocaust survivors, author and Sirius XM radio personality Martin Goldsmith has written about his family’s experiences during the Holocaust. Books by Goldsmith: “Alex’s Wake” and “The Inextinguishable Symphony: A True Story of Music and Love in Nazi Germany.”
