Bet Knesset Bamidbar (BKB) of Sun City Summerlin, celebrating 25 years as Southern Nevada’s largest adult-only Traditional Reform congregation, continues its tradition of inviting the Las Vegas community, both children and adults, to join BKB members in celebrating, Passover, at its kosher Seder led by its Rabbi, Steven Rosenberg, on April 3. “This is a wonderful homecoming-tradition we have celebrated for many years,” says BKB President Mark Rosenfeld. “By extending our invitation to our Seder table both to our community-at-large, and to those visiting Las Vegas during Passover, we hold true to our roots of providing a sense of home and belonging to those who participate in all of what BKB offers,” he went on to say.
Founded in 1990 and located in Summerlin, BKB’s congregation of 50 plus years of age, has retiree transplants who have family far away. Many traditional ritual Jewish holidays, such as Passover, can prove a painful reminder of missing family. As a result, BKB makes sure that all of the many activities it offers, such as its kosher Seder, give a sense of belonging and family to fill that void to both members and visitors.
