Women's Philanthropy

Why a Women's Gift?

Across the country, close to 30 percent of all gifts to the Jewish Nevada campaigns are made by women. Here in Nevada, that number is even more significant. Year after year, women's giving is the fastest-growing component of our annual campaign, representing almost 50 percent of all our donors.

Throughout Jewish history Jewish women have always had an important responsibility to lead and teach our children, families, friends and community.

As committed leaders and donors in Women’s Philanthropy we recognize our power to set an example for ourselves; by generously supporting Jewish Nevada's Campaign we take responsibility for building, strengthening and sustaining Jewish life at home and around the world.

Annual Outreach Events & Programs

Outreach programs are intended to reach out to new women in our community, helping them become educated about the work that we do and inspire to become a generous donor to the Annual Campaign. We hope to reach, engage, and connect with women in the community through social networking and important programs to inspire all women become a part of Women's Philanthropy and generous donors to the Jewish Nevada Campaign.

Giving Levels and Donor Recognition Programs:

Women’s Philanthropy is one of the most vibrant and active departments of Jewish Nevada that represents the many faces of Jewish women in Nevada.

ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

The Annual Campaign gives every woman the opportunity to make a personal gift to the Jewish community thereby assuming responsibility for saving, sustaining, and enriching Jewish lives. In addition, these women lead other women and their own families by example. Get involved with Jewish Nevada by making a gift to the Annual Campaign and make a difference in our world today.

LION OF JUDAH

The Lion of Judah is a special national program that recognizes those women who make a gift of $5,000 or more to the Jewish Nevada Campaign.  Each year we host a special luncheon for all Lion’s in our community to thanks them for their generous support and provides a wonderful opportunity to share a meal with some of the community’s top philanthropists.

POMEGRANATE SOCIETY

The Pomegranate Society is a national program that recognizes those women who make a minimum gift of $1,800 or more to the Jewish Nevada Campaign.  Each year the women in the Pomegranate Society are recognized and honored at a special dinner reception.  Women who are giving at this level also wear a sterling silver pomegranate pin which signifies their commitment to the Jewish Nevada Campaign.

UNITED - DOLLAR A DAY CAMPAIGN

United recognizes those women who make a gift of $365 or more to the Jewish Nevada Campaign. Each year Jewish Nevada hosts a luncheon which honors and thanks those women in the United Society. The event features a motivating and inspiring speaker as well as a fashion show and silent auction.

Making a Gift Means More than Writing a Check

It Signifies:

Support

When support for Israel and our local community is measured, government leaders count the number of donors as a measure of influence and importance. We all need to stand up and be counted!

Community

With your individual gift, you join an exceptional group of women who share similar values and are working to ensure a Jewish future for our children and our grandchildren.

Mitzvot

As Jews, we each have a personal obligation to practice the mitzvah of tzedakah. Even those who are recipients of tzedakah share in the mitzvah of contributing something. We each have the opportunity to honor our Jewish identity as individual donors when we support the Jewish Nevada Campaign.

Power and Leadership

Through our own actions, involvement and generosity, we teach our children and our community about their own responsibility to meet the needs of our global Jewish community. By giving we have more influence in determining how our donations are spent and the direction in which our community grows.
