2018 Women’s Philanthropy United Luncheon Huge Success!

The Women’s Philanthropy United Luncheon, benefitting the 2018 Jewish Nevada Campaign for Jewish Needs was a huge success!  On March 14th more than 150 women gathered at Las Vegas’ newest event space, Enclave, for the much-anticipated annual event.  Lauren Steiner and Debbie Strimling, co-chaired the program and were assisted by dedicated committee members including Heather Rosenthal, Ellen Schaner and Pamela Wilkins.

Milana This is Us.  She spoke about her family’s experience emigrating to the United States from Uzbekistan when she was just 3 years old with the help of Jewish Federations of North America and our overseas partner, the JDC.

“We were thrilled to welcome Milana to our community,” shared Strimling, “her story made the connection to the work of Jewish Federation and connected guests to the important work she is doing now with the refugee crisis.”  This is why we do what we do.”

Both speakers helped the Women’s Philanthropy Council to raise many new gifts as well as several increased pledges from generous donors in attendance, totaling over $62,000, making this year one of the most successful luncheons to date.  “We are in awe of the commitment and support of the women in our community,” shared Jennifer Sher, Women’s Philanthropy Council Vice-Chair, “Year after year, women in our community step up to show how much they care and are invested in the work of Jewish Nevada.”

The event once again began with a wonderful silent auction, including items ranging from dining experiences to spa service and hotel packages.  Guests were also able to purchase gift opportunity tickets for a chance to win a gorgeous diamond pendant, courtesy of Trigon Diamonds or a weekend ride with a Bentley, courtesy of Towbin Motorcars.  Both the silent auction and the gift opportunity help to bring in thousands of dollars that go directly towards the campaign.

“We are so incredibly appreciative of the support of the community year after year,” exclaimed Stefanie Tuzman, Director of Annual Giving and Women’s Philanthropy for Jewish Nevada. “This event would not be possible without the generosity of our Silent Auction donors and our event sponsors; we are extremely grateful.

This year’s sponsors included The Private Bank at Nevada State Bank, Marcy & Jack Simon Family Trust, The Ivan Sher Group, Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging, Brenden Mann Foundation, Towbin Motorcars, A&B Printing, Enclave, Destinations by Design, Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits and Trigon Diamonds.
