PJ Library at Camp Khela

Little campers from all over the valley were so excited to join PJ Library at The JCC Camp Khelah.  PJ Library was there every week to do a special Shabbat program with the little campers (18 months – 3 years).

The little campers were delighted to sing Shabbat songs, say the blessings over the candles, wine and challah. Every week an Abba (Daddy) & Imma (Mommy) were chosen to help re-enact a Shabbat dinner.  They also really enjoyed doing a Shabbat craft. The Little Campers made Kiddush cups, a mitzvah note tree, tzedakah boxes.  The Little Campers also loved having a Shabbat PJ Library book read to them each week.

“We love how PJ Library is so easily incorporated into our JCC Camp Khelah,” said Beth Falk, Camp Khelah Director.

In addition to PJ Library’s Shabbat at Camp Khelah, PJ Library books were read weekly in the camp classroom and the books Jewish value was discussed and brought to life within the classroom.
