THE ABAYUDAYA OF UGANDA: AN AFRICAN TRIBE THAT CHOSE JUDAISM. Join us for the fascinating presentation on the Abayudaya who chose Judaism in 1919. While the presence of Jewish communities in Africa goes back to biblical times, Ruth will share the story of this Tribe and its 400 members who more recently underwent formal conversion. A film has been made of this historic event. Ruth will also speak about Kulanu (Hebrew for all of us), an American organization that helps isolated Jewish communities around the world.
