The Desert Winds presents “COLORATIONS in CRIMSON”
Las Vegas’ premiere contemporary ensemble offers free Veterans Day concert.
The Desert Winds, Las Vegas’ premiere contemporary wind ensemble, will perform their annual Veterans Day concert, “COLORATIONS in Crimson”, on November 11, 2014, at Congregation Ner Tamid at 7:30pm. In partnership with Congregation Ner Tamid and The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, this is a FREE concert offered as an interfaith community event to honor all current service members, veterans, and their families. The program will feature Cantor Jessica Hutchings and also pay tribute to our national anthem, which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year!
The concert will include a reception afterwards showcasing community services available to veterans and their families. All donations received at the event will go to the Jewish War Veterans to support various charities, including the USO, U.S. Vets, and the Nevada State Veterans Home.
Congregation Ner Tamid is located at 55 N. Valle Verde Drive in Henderson, NV. Seating is limited and reservations can be made by visiting our website at www.thedesertwinds.org.
The Desert Winds is a local wind ensemble led by artistic director, Charles A Maguire. The group is comprised of over 40 professional and semi-professional musicians, who primarily showcase music of contemporary composers. Now in their sixth season, The Desert Winds was voted “Best Performing Arts Group” in the LVRJ’s “Best of Las Vegas” for 2014.
