Communications and Marketing Manager 


Temple Sinai is a Reform Jewish synagogue located in the family-friendly community of Summerlin, west of Las Vegas. It is the spiritual home to roughly 400 families. Temple Sinai is a dynamic congregation with an extensive variety of services and programs to meet the interests and needs our members. We come together to pray, to study, and to create and foster a warm sense of community.


We are seeking a Communications and Marketing Manager to help articulate and implement an ongoing communication and brand strategy for Temple Sinai.  Working with an on-site desktop publishing associate, this position will oversee and participate in producing a high volume of internal and external communications in digital and print formats, including our website, monthly bulletin, weekly and event emails, flyers, social media, news releases, and special projects as assigned. The successful candidate will have expertise in business writing, branding and creative communication strategies, and some knowledge of grant writing is a plus.  This full-time position reports to the Executive Director and works in close collaboration with the clergy and the Executive Committee, and in concert with the professional staff and Board of Trustees.


Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with staff, clergy, and lay leadership to strategize and develop communication initiatives that reflect Temple Sinai’s overall strategic goals, maintaining a consistent brand
  • Supervise and manage the website, which utilizes ShulCloud software
  • Supervise outside design resources, including photography
  • Supervise the design, editing, proofreading, and production of the monthly printed Shofar bulletin, weekly emails, event eblasts, printed flyers, and digital display screens in the lobby
  • Design, edit, and produce digital and print materials for all departments
  • Plan and manage a social media strategy (including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and other social networks) designed to recruit membership for the congregation and religious school, increase engagement among members, and maximize fundraising
  • Create and submit monthly news releases and advertisements to the local media
  • Manage the Marketing and Communications budget
  • Analyze and report on digital marketing analytics
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Grants Committee
  • Assist in writing write and submiting grant applications with accompanying materials
  • Work as part of the management team to ensure that all Temple Sinai events, activities, programs, and holiday celebrations run well




A successful Communications and Marketing Manager will possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills, understand synagogue culture well, and have a highly developed capacity to innovate. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Marketing preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience in a marketing/communications related position; non-profit experience is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
  • Competency and experience in using all Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint , and Outlook), Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), and Canva
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X)  
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work effectively with a professional team and with lay leaders
  • Solid design skills, digital photography/video skills (shooting/editing) preferred
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the Jewish community preferred



Compensation and Hours:

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Hours: 40 hours/week, M-F
